Ms. Kara Rhoads, LSW

Kara is a Licensed Social Worker pursuing her Clinical Social Work license. Kara has been working with Silver Lining Support Services throughout her career in various aspects. We are thrilled to have her join our therapy team. Kara’s full-time role is a school social worker at a local school district. While her full-time role allows her a multitude of opportunities with our youth, Kara’s focus at Silver Lining Support Services aligns with her therapeutic training in Grief and Loss counseling and Cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Kara draws from person-in-environment theory coupled with Cognitive-behavioral therapy and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. Having a system theory approach is important for Kara because she feels it aligns with her values and allows her and her clients to see the “bigger picture”. Kara is able to accept Highmark, Capital Blue, UPMC, Wellspan EAP, Mazzetti and Sullivan, and self-pay clients at this time.
